Designed by P.B. Dye, Iberostar Playa Paraíso boasts Dye's signature design elements, including dramatic elevation changes, strategically placed bunkers, and expansive waste areas.
The Iberostar Playa Paraíso complex, a sprawling beachfront haven in the heart of the Riviera Maya, began its story in 2001 with the groundbreaking of the Iberostar Playa Paraiso Golf and Spa Resort, marking the first step in the creation of this expansive complex. Over the following years, Iberostar meticulously expanded its offerings, adding four more distinct hotels to the complex.
The challenging 18-hole, par-72 golf course meanders through dense mangrove forests, crosses over shimmering lakes, and offers glimpses of ancient Maya ruins, creating a truly unique golfing experience. Spanning 6,588 yards, narrow fairways demand precision off the tee, while the undulating greens, protected by Dye’s bunkers, require a delicate touch and impeccable putting skills.
The Iberostar Playa Paraiso Golf Course boasts an impressive tournament history, having hosted a variety of prestigious events over the years. It has served as the qualifying venue for the PGA Tour's Mayakoba Golf Classic on multiple occasions, offering aspiring professionals a chance to earn their spot in the main event.
The course also hosted the World Amateur Team Championships in 2016, showcasing its ability to challenge and inspire top amateur golfers from around the globe. Furthermore, it has been a featured course on the Golf Channel's reality show, Big Break Mexico, highlighting its dramatic beauty and demanding layout. This rich tournament history underscores the course's status as a championship-caliber venue, capable of hosting top-level competitive golf events.
With five sets of tees, Iberostar Playa Paraiso caters to golfers of all abilities, providing an enjoyable and memorable experience for players of every level.
